Here is my “Top 10″ list of android apps that you should have it in your phone. This list is compiled considering the remarkable features, these apps brings to your android phone. They are my must have apps, if  you want to use your android phone, to its fullest extent. Enjoy the android experience with these cool apps.

Evernote

Evernote lets you store just about anything from your mobile devices or computers to a remote location accessible over the web. It lets you take notes, capture photos, create to-do lists, record voice reminders and finally store them in the “cloud”. Cloud storage makes the content accessible from anywhere. Items like text, pictures, emails, or audio recordings that are stored in evernotes are called as “notes”. Behind the scenes, Evernote identifies the text embedded with an image, and creates an index on that.This will enable you to do a search for text inside images.

Let us take a practical case to see the usefulness of this feature. You have noted down certain important points from a meeting in a book. With Evernote installed, you can just scan the paper and store it as a note in evernote.Later you can search for all images (notes) containing a particular text. Wow !.

Google Drive

Google Drive is also file sharing application using cloud.Google has integrated Google Docs to Drive. Using Google Drive, files can be accessed from anywhere and can be shared with others. Google Drive is providing 5 GB of storage for free. Google drive offers to convert files to google online document format. This makes collaboration easier. Your edits to the file, will be reflected  to all others who has opened the document within seconds. Google Drive provides cool search options to search you documents. Overall a good app from Google.

Dropbox

Dropbox is a file sharing app that uses cloud storage. Cloud storage refers to storing content on remote servers operated by these companies. Your content, resides in the cloud, enabling you, access from anywhere via internet, by logging into your account with dropbox. It lets you to share the content among all your devices like mobile phone, ipad, laptop , desktop etc. Dropbox gives 2 GB of storage for free. You need to pay and buy storage space if you need more.

Instagram

Instagram is one of the most popular, photo sharing apps, for mobile devices.It comes with a lot of predefined filters that can be applied to the photos you have it your mobile, to make it more appealing. It can make your photos more vibrant and colourful.The effects are just amazing. Try it and see for yourself. It lets you instantly share the photos to Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and Foursquare. At present, instagram is not supporting sharing on Flickr.I am sure, it will be available in the coming versions. You can use instagram to follow your friend and see his photos in your phone. Every time your friends uploads a photo, it will be available for you to view in instagram. This is a must have application in your mobile.

MX Player

MX player is one of the best video players available for android. MX Player supports a wide formats including .3gp .avi .divx .f4v .flv .mkv .mp4 .mpeg .mov .vob .wmv .webm .xvid and many more. It has multicore decoding and CPU optimization capabilities. This will result in  better performance compared to single core decoding. MX Player supports a variety of subtitles formats. The user interface is easy to use and it supports multiple themes. Screen supports Gestures. You can pinch on the screen to zoom, drag horizontally to adjust the playback, drag vertically on the right side to adjust the volume and single tap play/pause toggle. MX Player also supports movie search. Over all a great movie player. Performs much better than many of the other android media players.

Whatsapp messenger

Whatsapp Messenger is a smart phone messenger.It uses the phone’s 3G or WiFi (when enabled) for messaging. It can send and receive messages, pictures, audio notes and video messages. Ok. Great !. Why is it different ? Most important is the cost part. An SMS costs you. A whatsapp message doesn’t cost you anything other than the internet
charges you pay for getting internet on your phone. You can send a whatapp message to your friend anywhere in the world. There are no international or local SMS charges.Also, whatsapp messenger works with your phone number. There are no more PIN numbers /UserNames to remember. It integrates with your address book to pull the contacts. The user interface is also nice. A cool app to have on your mobile.

Opera mini web browser

Opera mini is one the best mobile browsers i have used. It employs data compression technology reducing the data transfer size to a considerable amount. This results in faster performance and reduced data charges.The browser is very easy to use and navigate. Opera claims, it is the fastest mobile browser. There is no reason not to believe them.My usage has shown it to be faster and easier to use than many other browsers.

Go Launcher EX

Go Launcher EX is the extended version of GO Launcher, one of the most popular, home app in the android market.It allows users to customize home screen, change themes, use smooth transition animation as well as various widgets and screen locks. It comes with thousands of personalized themes, smooth transition animations, smooth flipping and many other customization options. This app can give your phone a totally new look. I have enjoyed using this application. This has found its way in my top 10 list due to its superior features and look and feel.

Pocket

Pocket is a highly secure application to store sensitive data on your phone. All of us usually stores bank account details, different passwords, pin numbers and other such hard to remember, sensitive information in the contacts, message or notes section of our phones.This practice can be problematic if the phones falls into wrong hands. When you use Pocket, your data is encrypted using AES-256 bit encryption technique. Only you will be able to use your data via a master password. Even if you lose your phone your data will still be safe.In addition, Pocket self-locks after a timeout period and clears the clipboard to make sure your data is protected.

Pocket also provides the option to back up your wallet to your Dropbox account.This data exists in the dropbox in encrypted format and hence your data cannot be decrypted without the master password. You need to just memorize  your master password ! I highly recommend pocket due to its high-end security features and overall usefulness. This is a must have app and is one of my favourites.

There are only nine top apps in my list so far. I am yet to finish on the 10th app to put in my list. Check out this space sometime later and you will be able to find the 10th top app. Till, then this is my Top 10 Android App list.
