It has an impressive super sleek design and is easy to hold due to its curved design at the rear. This phone is having a powerful 1 GHz single core processor and the display is LCD. The screen of this phone is very good and it displays pictures and videos in vivid colors. The strong point of this phone is its awesome display.

Detailed Review : Micromax A100

Screen and Display :Micromax A100 has an impressive 5″ LCD screen supporting a resolution of  854 X 480 ( FWVGA ) pixels. The screen type is TFT capacitive touch supporting 16M colors. The screen is excellent and displayed the images and text with good quality. Even though the resolution of this phone is not very high, it was able to display text, images and videos in nice quality. The phone is by default setup with proper display brightness.

Physical Aspects: The Micromax Superfone Canvas A100 is a sleek phone with a rectangular frame and curved edges. The phone comes in dimensions of 72.6 x 142.2 x 11.9 mm which makes it a slim deviceA notable feature of A100 is that it doesn’t have any physical buttons at the front. The buttons for home, menu and back are all part of the display. This provides more screen area. It has a nice curved design at the back and is very easy to hold. Micromax A100 has a 5 MP camera at the rear and a 0.3 MP front camera for video chatting. The camera design is like that of  HTC One X. This phone delivers good call quality on both the sim cards. The sound is clear and crisp. But the situation changes when you put on the headphone. The sound is very low when using headphones. The phone also has an accelerometer and a G-sensor that helps to rotate the display according to the orientation in which the phone is held.

Processor : A100 is powered by a GHz single core Scorpion Processor. The Processor responded well to fast switch between apps and quick browsing. The responsiveness was very good and you feel like you are using a dual core processor phone. The processor and screen combination provided excellent game performance and due to the bright display, playing games was really fun in this phone. It also played HD games reasonably well.

Browsing: Browsing on this phone is excellent and responded very well to the touch and pinch to zoom gesture. I could zoom in and out with ease and the phone responded very well. It also played Flash videos without any issues. Verdict: Excellent browsing experience.

Storage : This  phone has 4 GB internal storage and 512 MB RAM. It has also got a micro-SD card slot supporting storage up to 32 GB. This is a good amount of storage capacity for a mid range phone like A 100.

Camera: Micromax A100 has a 5 MP rear camera and a 0.3 MP front camera. The main camera has auto-focus and Geo-tagging as well. A100 also has an LED flash. The camera performance was good but I can’t say it is the best. The pictures were of good quality and videos played well. When I shot outdoor pictures under bright light , the photos were having excessive white light and the quality was average. Indoor photos under low light conditions were also of average quality. But overall the camera performance is good for normal usage.

Battery: A100 is having a powerful 2000 mAh battery supporting a talk time of up to 5 hours and a standby time of 180 hours. It is rare to find such a powerful battery in mid range phones.

Price: Micromax A100 superfone canvas sells at Rs 9,999 in India ( flipkart)
